About
Languages live in families.
Elaüquent began with a simple wish: to answer Grandma in her own language. Millions of people grow up hearing a language at home and never quite learn to speak it back. We’re building the app we wanted for that.
What we believe.
Heritage first
Igbo deserves the same care as Spanish. We started with the languages of Nigeria and give every one of our 60 languages a real course.
Speaking first
The goal is a conversation with someone you love, not a score. Every lesson ends with your own voice.
Native speakers, paid
Tools help us start, but people who grew up with the language make it right, and they’re paid for it.
Honest and private
No ads, no tracking tools, no selling data. We say plainly when a line hasn’t been checked yet.
How we build it.
Every course starts from open resources and our own course builder, which writes a first draft of each line, its meaning and its sound. Then native speakers, our Voice Guides, check it line by line, fix what’s wrong, mark tones and record audio. Learners help them find the lines to fix first.
Our servers are our own. Accounts and lessons live on servers we run. Recordings are kept in private storage that only our server can reach, and every backup is encrypted. We don’t use a backend-as-a-service, and the kids’ space never loads anyone else’s code.
We’re a small team, and we’d love to hear from you: families, teachers, schools, and above all speakers of the languages we’re building.
