Who we are

These terms are an agreement between you and [LEGAL REVIEW: company legal name], [LEGAL REVIEW: registered address] (“Elaüquent”, “we”). By using the app or this website you agree to them. Questions: hello@elauquent.com.

Your account

• Give your real date of birth. It decides what you can use, and only our staff can change it.
• Children under 13 can only use Elaüquent with a parent’s or guardian’s yes, and the guardian agrees to these terms for them.
• Keep your password safe, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.

Our lessons

Our courses are built with computer help and checked by native speakers, our Voice Guides. Some lines haven’t been checked yet, and the app says so. Please tell us when something sounds wrong: votes and reports help us fix it. Lessons are for learning; don’t rely on them for medical, legal or other professional translation.

The lessons, recordings, designs and software are ours or our licensors’. You may use them for your own learning, not copy or resell them. [LEGAL REVIEW: open-source and open-data licence notices]

Being kind

Elaüquent is used by children, grandparents and everyone between. Don’t harass, threaten or deceive anyone, share sexual content, contact children you weren’t approved to reach, or try to get around our safety checks. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules. Report anything that worries you in the app.

What you share

You keep ownership of recordings, messages and posts you make. You give us permission to store them and show them to the people you shared them with, so the app can work. Family Voice recordings are never used to train computer voices or AI models unless the speaker opts in. Suggestions you send to improve a course may be used in that course. Plans and payments

• Paid plans are subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play, and their terms for billing, renewals, refunds and cancelling apply. You can cancel there at any time.

• What each plan includes may change; we’ll tell you before a change affects a plan you pay for.

Native speakers

Live sessions, voice-note coaching and phrase requests with native speakers are paid separately, at the price each speaker sets, through a regional payment provider. Native speakers are independent and are verified by us before they can offer sessions. If a speaker doesn’t answer a coaching note within 48 hours, that note is refunded automatically. Ending

You can delete your account at any time in the app’s settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law. [LEGAL REVIEW: notice and appeal process]

Responsibility

Law and disputes
